Self-Hosted Deployment & DevOps for Saudi Businesses

Self-hosted deployment means your application, database and infrastructure run on servers you control, in-Kingdom or on a cloud region of your choosing, instead of being locked inside one vendor's managed platform. We set up and run that infrastructure directly, with PDPL and NCA requirements considered from the first design decision.

Where Most Saudi Setups Fall Short

  • App runs on a cloud region with no clear PDPL residency answer
  • Deployments are manual, done by whoever is free that day
  • No CI/CD, so every release is a risk
  • HR/payroll data hosted outside the Kingdom by default
  • No monitoring until something is already down
  • Locked into one vendor's platform, with no exit plan

What a Proper Setup Looks Like

  • Hosting decisions made against PDPL residency requirements upfront
  • Automated CI/CD pipelines for every deployment
  • Infrastructure as code, so environments are reproducible
  • Sensitive data kept in-Kingdom or on a PDPL-aligned region
  • Monitoring and alerting before customers notice an outage
  • You hold the credentials, code and infrastructure, full stop

Self-Hosted Deployment & DevOps Services

Built and operated by our own team, not handed off to a subcontractor once the contract is signed

🖥️

Self-Hosted Application Deployment

Your app deployed on servers you control, whether that's in-Kingdom colocation, a cloud VPS, or your own data center.

🔁

CI/CD Pipeline Setup

Automated build, test and deploy pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins, so releases stop being a manual risk.

📦

Containers & Orchestration

Docker and Kubernetes setup for services that need to scale, with sensible defaults instead of over-engineering.

🏗️

Infrastructure as Code

Terraform-managed infrastructure so your environment is reproducible, versioned and not dependent on one person's memory.

🛡️

PDPL & NCA-Aligned Hardening

Data residency, access control and encryption decisions made against Saudi PDPL and NCA Essential Cybersecurity Controls.

📈

Monitoring & Incident Response

Observability with Prometheus/Grafana or equivalent, alerting before customers notice, and a clear on-call process.

Infrastructure We Work With

No need to standardize on one vendor's stack before calling us

Managed Cloud Platform vs. Self-Hosted Setup

What actually changes when you move off a vendor's managed platform

Factor Managed Platform (Vendor-Hosted) Self-Hosted, Set Up by Us
Data residency Wherever the platform's default region is In-Kingdom or PDPL-aligned region, by design
Ownership Locked into the platform's subscription and terms You hold the credentials, code and infrastructure
Cost as you scale Usage-based fees that climb with traffic Fixed setup cost, infrastructure sized to your load
Customization Limited to what the platform exposes Full control over architecture and configuration
Compliance You depend on the vendor's compliance posture PDPL/NCA controls built into your own environment
Exit plan Migration required if you ever want to leave No lock-in, you already control the infrastructure

Our Deployment Process

From audit to a running, monitored, PDPL-aware environment

1

Infrastructure Audit

Review of your current hosting, data flows and PDPL/NCA exposure before recommending anything.

2

Scope & Fixed Quote

A written proposal covering hosting model, pipeline setup and one fixed price for the build.

3

Build & Migrate

Infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines and, where needed, migration off the old platform with minimal downtime.

4

Harden & Monitor

PDPL/NCA-aligned access controls and encryption, plus monitoring and alerting configured before go-live.

5

Handover & Support

Full documentation and credentials handed over, with 30 days of included support and optional ongoing retainer.

Self-Hosted Deployment & DevOps FAQs

What business owners usually ask before starting

Does self-hosting mean we need our own data center?

No. Self-hosted can mean in-Kingdom colocation, a dedicated server, or a cloud VPS you control, rather than a physical data center. The key difference from a managed platform is that you hold the credentials and configuration, not the vendor.

Do we have to host everything in Saudi Arabia for PDPL compliance?

Not everything. Saudi PDPL requires local residency mainly for certain personal data categories such as HR and payroll data. Other data can often run on a nearby region like AWS Bahrain, depending on your specific data flows, which we map out during the audit.

How much does self-hosted deployment cost?

A single-application setup with CI/CD and basic monitoring typically starts from SAR 8,000 as a one-time build. Ongoing managed DevOps retainers usually run SAR 5,000 to 12,000 per month, depending on infrastructure complexity and compliance requirements.

What happens if we want to stop working with you?

You keep everything. Infrastructure code, credentials, documentation and access are yours from day one, so there's no migration project required if you decide to bring it in-house or work with someone else.

Can you migrate us off our current cloud platform without downtime?

Yes, for most setups. Migrations are planned and tested against a staging environment first, with a defined cutover window, so production downtime is minimized rather than eliminated by luck.
